We at Graphie-Tees are here to serve you. With years of experience working with the transfer of digital files, we can help you navigate through this sometimes confusing process. If you have any questions, please contact Andrea Kaiser at 574.287.4555 or email us at graphietees@aol.com.

VECTOR FILES
Graphie-Tees can provide you with the quickest and best service for your Embroidery and Screen Printing needs when we receive Adobe Illustrator (.ai or .eps) or CorelDRAW (.cdr) files. These files are also referred to as vector based artwork and can only be created in an illustration program such as Illustrator and CorelDRAW. The original or native file has to be an .ai, .eps or .cdr format in order for it to be vector based artwork. Saving a bitmap or raster artwork (.jpg, .tif, .gif) as an .ai or .eps does not convert the file automatically. Be sure to convert all text to curves or outlines to avoid any font issues. It is preferred that all full color files must be set up in spot color, using the Pantone Matching System (PMS) whenever possible. If not, and you do require a specific PMS#, then please list the PMS#(s) in your email. Chances are if you have had signs, business cards or letterhead printed with your company logo, the printer or sign company should have a vector art version of your logo. Most printers and sign companies will be happy to supply you with these files upon your request.

SCANNING FILES
Scanning camera ready art, slicks or photographs is also an option (size limation 8 1/2" x 14"). It is preferred that Graphie-Tees scan any image(s) in order to control the resolution and size. If you choose to scan your own artwork, the scan must 100% of the imprint size at 1200 dpi and saved as a .tif file. Keep in mind, in most cases a file of this type will be huge in size/megabytes (MB). A certain amount of clean up is necessary with this process as well. All artwork will be returned to customer if so requested.

BITMAP or RASTER FILES
Bitmap files are more suitable to photographic reproductions, but are not easily scalable. You can decrease, but never enhance the resolution. When a bitmap image is enlarged, it loses it's sharpness and the edges appear jagged or pixelated. We can digitize or recreate art from Bitmap or Raster Images such as JPEG (.jpg), TIFF (.tif), PDF (.pdf), GIF (.gif) and Photoshop (.psd) files. We can not go directly to screen print with these files, unless it is a photographic reproduction, they will need to be recreated. Depending upon the detail and difficulty of the art this may be a time consuming process. Do not embed or flatten any artwork, the linked file must be included. Adobe Photoshop files (.psd) need to be in layers. If you want to see what your final print would look like, print your picture, then blow it up on your copier to roughly the size you want. That is basically what your end result will be. Images from the internet are not acceptable files for reproduction. Internet images are optimized for web display (usually 72 dpi) and do not contain the initial quality required for further manipulation.

SUBMITTING FILES
Artwork submittals can be made via email by clicking here. This will create an email using your email application from your hard drive that you can attach your file(s) to. If your file(s) are larger than 5MB in size, please use WinZip or Stuff-It to compress the file(s) or supply them to us on CD:
